Romanian Synagogue Plundered

In Oradea, in northwestern Romania, thieves entered a synagogue, smashed benches and windows, and stole 14 candelabra.  Before the Holocaust, Oradea was a thriving Jewish community.  There are currently 29 synagogues in the area, but only two are still in use.
