Historical Data: This is the main synagogue of Thessaloniki. It is the only one remaining of the 40 synagogues that existed before World War II. It was built in 1925 an dwas inaugurated in 1927. It was saved during the war after it was requistioned by the Red Cross.
Area/Capacity: 300 sq. m. & 300 sq. m. (the women's gallery)/ 600 persons
Actual Condition: Excellent state of preservation, maintained by the Jewish Community of Thessaloniki.
