officially opened the Sydney Jewish Museum on 18 November 1992.
The Sydney Jewish Museum is dedicated to
documenting and teaching the history of the Holocaust so that these events will

The Mechelen Museum of Deportation and the Resistance is
one of the rare museums in Europe to bear witness to the tragedy suffered by
the Jewish people during the Second World War and be located in one of the
places that itself served as an antechamber for the extermination of the Jewish
people. The foundation stone of the new museum was laid by the President of the
Flemish Community, Mr. Luc Van den Brande, on September 20, 1992.

first Jewish exhibition in Denmark was shown at the premises of the Industrial
Society of Copenhagen in 1908. The emphasis was on arts and crafts,
concentrating mainly on items related to Jewish religious ritual, those used
both in formal services and at home. The display also included a little art
exhibition where various Jewish artists presented works for sale.

In the main prayer hall of this 1644 synagogue life-size
cardboard figures depict orthodox Jews of the old Kazimierz, and a large
television screen beams the same two black and white films over and over. In
adjacent rooms there is a moving series of photographs from the Krakow ghetto
of WWII, and a darkened room where you can watch Nazi anti-Semitic propaganda,
dubbed over in Hebrew, with French subtitles.

The Skirball Center for Biblical and Archaeological Research houses the Nelson Glueck School of Biblical Archaeology including the Bergreen Conference Room, laboratories for pottery restoration and for the preparation of archaeological publications. Adjacent to the research center is the Skirball Museum featuring a permanent exhibit of archaeological artifacts discovered during the HUC-JIR excavations from 1963 to the present.
