English Heritage is the
national body created by Parliament in 1984 charged with the protection
of the historic environment and with promoting public understanding and
enjoyment of it.
Preserving monuments, historic
buildings, and cemeteries associated with the foreign heritage of American
citizens_to honor the past, impart meaning to the present, and advance
mutual cooperation and friendship among countries

information about relevant laws, bilateral agreements and U.S. import restrictions;
recent new stories and magazine articles, and much more. High-resolution
images of classes of artifacts protected by the U.S. will be added in the
near future.
The World Monuments Fund
(WMF), founded in 1965, is a private, nonprofit organization dedicated
to preserving art and architecture. Based in New York, WMF works worldwide,
promoting onsite conservation of cultural landmarks and art as well as
supporting educational and interpretive activities. To date, WMF has orchestrated
over 165 projects in 51 countries.
Chaired by the Honorable
Ronald S. Lauder, the Jewish Heritage Program unites communities worldwide
with public and private agencies committed to the protection and preservation
of Jewish heritage.
