The Jewish Historical Society of South Carolina' s Statewide Cemetery Survey Project
Early in 2004, the Jewish Historical Society of South Carolina embarked on a survey of burial places of South Carolina Jews. The goal of the project is to learn, who is buried in each cemetery, collect biographical information on those individuals, and organize and archive the findings so they can be readily accessed by descendents, historians, and researchers. More information on project is available in The Jewish Historical society of South Caroline Newsletter.(PDF file)Jewish Funerals, Burial, and Mourning
International Association of Jewish Genealogical Societies Cemetery Project
In recent years Jews have become more interested in their past. Genealogists are particularly aware of their ancestors, and the Association of Jewish Genealogical Societies (a non-profit organization) launched an ambitious 3-phase project in 1994 to try to help us remember our past.Cemetery in Suriname, ISJM funded project
