The International Center of Medieval Art, founded in 1956, seeks to promote
the study of the visual arts of the Middle Ages in Europe. Its worldwide membership
includes academics, museum professionals, collectors and other enthusiasts.
ICMA publishes a scholarly journal, Gesta; a newsletter; a list of
dissertations on medieval art; and two continuing series, The Census of
Romanesque Sculpture in North American Collections and The Census of
Gothic Sculpture in North American Collections. ICMA also organizes symposia,
sponsors sessions at international conferences, and supports the "Limestone
Sculpture Provenance Project," a database now containing nearly 2000 samples
from monuments, sculptures, and quarries in France.
The NHPRC site provides information on the commission, its staff, and programs.
The site contains guidelines and application forms for prospective applicants,
information about funded projects, lists of state archivists, links to archives
and documentary editing projects, and publications.
The Society of Architectural Historians (SAH) and its members invite the
support and active participation of all who share our interest in architecture--past,
present, and future. Founded in 1940, the Society encourages scholarly research
in the field and promotes the preservation of significant architectural monuments
that are an integral part of our worldwide historical and cultural heritage.
