Bibliography

SignificanceOldest synagogue of Reform Judaism in continuous use in the Pacific Northwest.

* The building had been abandoned and unused for twenty years and needed a million dollars to

renovate it. During July, 1989 the congregation had hoped to sign an agreement with a concert

group to take over the building. However, that failed to transpire and after a ten year attempt to

prevent the demolition and with a lack of organized opposition by the Jewish community

Temple de Hirsch disappeared.
