| Description | Mickve Israel is easily recognizable by the large six pointed star above the entrance and is |
| Gothic architecture. The building design is more often associated with curches however there |
| are many Jewish symbols. The simple wooden pews have velvet cushions. It is in excellent |
| condition, on the original site and is altered. |

| Significance | This is the only example of pur Gothic Revival Synagogue in the US derived from the Gothic |
| Cathedrals in Europe. It is located on the prayer site of the larges number of Jews (42) who |
| came to the US prior to 1800. Today the structure is virtually unchanged. |
