DescriptionDesigned in Romanesque style with Eastern overtones, it is a square building with a large

central dome. The Temple has some of the finest stained glass windows in the city. The

wainscoting and pews are made of ruddy Honduran mahogany.

SignificanceThis Temple withstood San Francisco's great earthquake of 1906. The city's Superior Courts

met here for more than two years. In 1945, a founding session of the United Nations was held

in the Main Sanctuary.
